What did you learn about "lifelong wellness" from taking this activity class?

I learned that lifelong wellness is important in order to keep your body functioning properly. Breathing properly, how to keep my back from straining, to listen to my body, and manage stress are all parts of lifelong wellness that I learned from this class.  Yoga is very useful in keeping my body flexible, which is one of the four components of fitness along with cardio, strength, and body composition. Thus yoga is important in my life in order to be healthy.

How will you apply this information in/to your life?

Yoga in itself is applicable to my life through continuing to practice.  The other lessons I learned will be applied to my life; for example, I get stressed easily but now I can use the ujjayi breathing technique to help calm myself down.  When I listen to my body I know if I need to push or yield in all aspects of my life.  I also love skiing but in order to continue to do what I love I need to keep my back healthy and strong, my mom has back problems so I have seen what it can do to your life.  Yoga is applicable to my life because of the lessons I learned while in this course.

What is your intention to continue to exercise in your life and why?

I do plan on continuing to practice yoga because I like how I feel after I have.  I know I can get the most out of my practice by doing yoga 4 or more times a week but I also know my limitations, because of my schedule, and have set a goal of 2 or more times a week.  I feel that even though it isn’t as often as I would like it still is going to help my body.

What did you enjoy most about this course?

This class was my favorite summer class because of the exercises that we did during class.  When I first walked in I had no idea what I was doing or how technical yoga is.  I love how every time I left class I felt relaxed and replenished.  I met some amazing people and learned so much about my body throughout the course.
